BLUNTISH Dorothy "Grace"

Dorothy Grace known as ‘Grace’ was born in 1983, the daughter of John and Eleanor Stewart who owned 'Yanrey' station near Onslow North West.
Her father died young – a sudden death in April 1896 - leaving her mother with three small children.
Tragically, Eleanor died 14 months later in June 1897 aged just 28 years.
Grace went with her siblings to live with her grandparents in the Eastern States.
Later Grace moved to Pallinup Station with her brother Walter and sister Nellie aka ‘Nell’.

Ian Potter: "Small world ....I worked for Giralia Station for a few years , went to Yanrey Station ( next door ) a fair few times in the ‘90’s . Next door was over the boundary fence , by road it was about 180 kms , but it was near the old Barradale Tavern , lol" .
Pam Munro:
I worked on Yanrey Station in 1985. Tom Alston owned it.
Used to go to the Barradale tavern all the time. Did the tin horse rodeo as well. Brilliant fun.

Ian Potter: Pam Munro , I didn’t get to the Barradale " too much " , it was too far to pop out , but I was going out with a housemaid from Yanrey for awhile . Mostly we’d put a call out and jackaroos, jillaroos and housemaids would all meet up at Coral Bay ( before it became commercialised ) ....or the Towera Pools station picnic .
Later I met a young lass who spent a year on Giralia with me , I married her and we have four kids now ...who love hearing the stories about the incidents in the northwest , lol .
